Tips for a great favicon
Start from an SVG or a square PNG of at least 512×512 pixels. Simple shapes and bold colors read best at 16 pixels — consider using only the symbol of your logo rather than the full wordmark. Use the padding option if your logo touches the edges, and pick a background color for the Apple and Android icons, which are shown on solid tiles.
How it works
Everything is generated in your browser with the Canvas API, and the .ico file is assembled locally. Click Download all as ZIP, upload the files to the root of your website and paste the HTML snippet into your pages.
